In EDLD 5317 the coursework centered around digital resources and how these resources can be incorporated into a specific learning environment and context. As a key component of the course I created a publication article that addresses specific digital resources used in a blended learning professional learning context. This context aligns well with and fits into the broader scope of my overall Innovation Plan.
The first step of this course was to complete a publication outline to help refine and organize my ideas around the topic I wanted to write about. The outline also includes possible publication outlets and their publication requirements. You can view my outline by clicking the button below.
Now that I had a good roadmap of what I wanted to focus on in my publication article, I took the ideas from the outline and wrote the rough draft of my article. I wrote the rough draft according to the specification of the publication outlets I will submit it to. This process was a challenge because I wanted the article to be highly interesting and readable for educators and admins with limited time. After creating this rough draft, I participated in a peer review process where I was able to receive helpful feedback to enhance and polish my writing to make it more accessible to an audience who may be unfamiliar with the topic. In order to build anticipation and interest in my published article, I created a short media pitch. This short video teases the topic of blended learning in a PL setting by utilizing an accessible food analogy and engaging visuals. There is just enough information about how digital resources can be used in an innovative way to enhance educator PL to entice viewers to engage with the article. The final step was to take the feedback from my peers and move through a revision cycle. This encouraged me to delve deeper into the subject, refine my arguments, and elevate the quality of my work. I will continue the revision process as I move towards official publication of my work. You can view the final draft of my publication article by clicking the button below.
As I have moved through the course, learning about the myriad digital resources available to educators and administrators, I was able to broaden my thinking on how these resources can effectively be utilized to enhance learning. I took some time to reflect deeply on the ways in which was able to contribute to my own and others’ learning in this course. You can view my Contribution to Learning by clicking the button below.
Through this coursework I was able to gain valuable insights into the intricate interplay of technology, media, and information, which is key to success in the ever-evolving landscape of our digital world.
