It has been quite a learning experience beginning the ADL program this semester and stretching my technological skills. Creating this ePortfolio site was a big challenge for me. I blogged for years when my children were younger using Blogger, but switching to WordPress, purchasing my domain, and navigating the many themes and editing options felt overwhelming. I watched several YouTube tutorials on how to set up my WordPress site and met with a friend on Zoom who walked me through some of the editing features. The results of those efforts are before you.

The ADL program fosters student learning through authentic learning experiences. I have the opportunity to effect real change in my organization through the Innovation Plan that I developed.
The learning philosophy of CSLE + COVA is a significant shift in my pedagogical thinking. I enjoyed reading the COVA ebook this term and making connections to how it can apply to the learners I work with.
Throughout my courses, I have been working on shifting my mindset to embrace a growth and learner’s mindset. Being self-aware and catching myself falling back into fixed mindset habits allows me to rewire my brain to choose a new thought about the challenges I face both academically and personally.
This course, and developing my ePortfolio, taught me I need to make a concerted effort to draw CONNECTIONS between the topics I am learning about in the courses and my day-to-day tasks. I was able to apply concepts of FEEDFORWARD and REFLECTION in my professional development and coaching work.
While the ADL program is a fully online degree program, I have relied on collaboration with my classmates and instructor. I found great value in their thoughts, feedforward, and encouragement as I worked through challenging RESEARCH assignments, honed my INNOVATION PLAN, and managed my work/school/life balance.
Putting together the pieces of my learning is eye-opening. It clearly illustrates how much I have learned this term. I am happy with my progress and look forward to building on this foundation. It will all be documented right here, on my ePortfolio, so stay tuned!
